Guide

CRM and HR software in one system.

Many small and growing companies run customers and people operations with the same few staff. This guide explains when one workspace for both works, and what to check first.

Benefits

Why combine them?

One login and one permissions model

Roles and record-level access are set once and apply to customers and people records alike.

One place to look

A manager can check an account, a ticket and a team member's time off without switching tools.

Fewer tools to pay for

One workspace can replace a CRM and a basic HR system.

Limits

When to keep them separate.

A combined system suits companies where the same few people run customers and people operations. It suits less well when HR has a dedicated team with payroll, benefits and statutory reporting needs. In that case, keep the specialist HR tool and use the CRM for customers.

The question to ask is whether one workspace saves your team time today, not whether it could replace every tool in theory.

Check first

Before you replace an HR tool.

  1. List what HR must do

Directory, time off, attendance, onboarding, reviews and goals are covered. Payroll is not.

  2. Check compliance

If you need payroll or local statutory reporting, keep that tool and use the CRM for the rest.

  3. Set access carefully

People records are sensitive. Use per-object access tiers so only the right people see them.

Access

Keeping people records private.

People records are sensitive. Roles and per-object access tiers decide who sees what, and the workspace has one admin with other members holding delegable permissions. Two-factor sign-in can be required for everyone.

CRM and HR

CRM and HR questions, answered.

Can it replace a separate HR system?

For many small teams it covers the basics. Check payroll and compliance needs first. See the HR features.

Is HR included in every plan?

CRM and HRMS are part of the Growth plan. Ask the team for the current plan matrix.

Is it safe to keep HR data in a CRM?

It depends on the controls. Veliq CRM enforces roles and record-level access on the server, and supports two-factor sign-in. Read the security page.
